Do I need all this Gear?
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Рік тому
Ok, again the title is a little clicky.. sorry about that.. and sorry if you thought there was going to be a fire sale of cheap Fairlights over at Studio Mike :D I had a question in the comments the other week which was basically "How can you ever learn to get the most from that gear when you have so much". The answer is I have built the studio over many many years and spend a huge amount of ti...
Synclavier Q&A and Patch Creation
Переглядів 5 тис.Рік тому
The Syncalvier clips are some of the most popular on the channel. As I started making these quite a few years ago I feel its good to revisit and try and improve on the information and production quality. I think the main camera which I used for the 'talking head' shots is starting to show its age and might be due for replacement soon. My apologies is the slight soft focus and noise is a little ...
UDO Super 6 - The Ultimate Pad Synth?
Переглядів 8 тис.Рік тому
Sorry for the clicky title, but in all the time I have owned the Super 6 I think I have produced only one video on it! The UDO Super 6 is one of the most stunning synths in recent years for being totally modern in many ways but at the same time rolling back time to where a complex synth could be easy to patch and create new sounds I hope you are all doing well and enjoy the clip. Hope the High ...

Teenage Engineering OP-1 Ambient Tracks #1 - Ocean (Music)
Переглядів 955Рік тому
Its been a while since I had time to play with the OP-1. Its funny how fast you loose the muscle memory of where functions hide and how to get to some of the sweet spots with the effetcs. This is the first track of hopefully a release that will be out in the coming months. Hope you all enjoy Take care Mike 100smusic.bandcamp.com/ lander2.bandcamp.com/ 100thingsido

Wow, amazing how fast you get out of practice editing and filming videos. A little more clunky and low key than normal. Usual service should resume in the next clip :D Thanks as always for checking these out Mike

Waldorf Quantum Kernels FM

Ok... So I thought we would give FM another go. This time I am using the Waldorf Quantum as the synthesis source! I did notice in the edit I used the word INtOPoLAtION when I was intending to use Scan! Whooops! The rest of the terms seem correct on retrospect ... maybe :D Hope your all doing well. Next clip will hopefully be the final in the MPC 60 Resto.. 100thingsido 100smusic....

Here is me taking a very worn AKAI MPC 60 and trying to make it something I will enjoy using a proud to share with you all! Not quite an MPC3000 but once I finish it won't be far off form the same functionality :D Wow, prices seem to have gone mad. Maybe they will never go down again so time I purchased some of the gear I have always admired Hope you enjoy this Video. Part 2 should follow very ...

Fairlight CMI Build 5 - It was always about WaveTables!
Hi my friend, nice work, i don't suppose you have the patch to share do you?
I've always been fascinated by how weird and kind of "off" those filters are, I suppose it may be something to do with the components Buchla didn't like to use or whatnot, but they really do sound thin and unusual, which can be fun in its own way
When I flushed my toilet last evening these exact same sounds is what I heard!
Hello , do you remeber the Sound on 2:21? on my ESI 32 is Plucked Glock but sounds different
yes, i also want know the name of this Sound, its great😀
@@monolfo3365 it seems we get no answer
THIS is the kind of sounds I wanted to make on my blo. Time to cook some custom samples and wt (then wait almost 40m to transfer them 🤣🤣🤣). Epic demo/tutorial!
Thanks for sharing hands on wavetable creation on the CMI!
These sliders are too rough.
Lots of sounds from "Escape from New York" too...
Do you have a link or spec measurement for the replacement Springs
Beyond the sound, that's just a beautiful instrument made of wood and metal..
It didn’t just help me to learn more about the Synclavier. It also helped me to learn more about additive synthesis. It is 6 June 2024 as a comment. Tomorrow, I am set to take delivery of an ASM Hydrasynth Explorer. I hope that its FM features will be comprehensive to me after watching videos like this one.
Hope you are okay!🤥🤔
100% fine, just taking.a break, back soon :D
@@100ThingsIDo 👍Great to hear you are fine! Take your time!
Really gorgeous!
Beautiful soundscape. I remember hearing the patch, Deep Atmosphere, in the music shop and my heart skipped a beat. Sold.
Lexicon has no equal
This brings back memories! We had an AKAI S612 back when it was new. 12-bit sampling from 4 to 32kHz. Later an EMAX was added to our synth-grotto, also 12-bit resolution but with sample-rates up to 42kHz. I fondly remember how their limitations made us experiment in ever new ways. Deliberately using low bit- and sample rates to fit longer samples in memory made it sound almost organic, bit-distorted. Sampling with the S612, we had a crash cymbal, its stand and the micrphone fall over on the floor. Then luckily looped it in a way that it became the base rhythm track for a new song. Happy accidents like that. :) When the romplers came, they sure sounded great but the creative joy sort of disappeared.
That’s lovely.
Orch2 my beloved
hello! you can say me if this is made using a fairlight cmi? ua-cam.com/video/Jk3AMSOFXUg/v-deo.htmlsi=YmIM0pI2MVuHO7jQ
Damn those Eventide units were and are amazing. Imaging you are a composer or sound designer in the late-80's, early -90's and you had the money to rock a Synclavier, one or more of these and a Lexicon 224/480 reverb. It would still sound incredible and state of the art even now.
Excelente demo podria hacer lo mismo con emt 252 reverb?
Fantastic. The UAD 224, Arturia LX24 and Relab Rev 1A all come close but this thing sounds beautiful 💜
is this a Cloney project build?? or complete DIY by you??
Complete DYI, I have a video on the build : Making of my VCS3 UA-cam · 100 Things I Do 1 May 2016
Creeeeppyy!!!🧛♂️

The dark star!!! Run for your lives!!! Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!🙃
I have most of E-MU's rack modules. I think the Morpheus may pair well with the Orbit 9090 for ambient music. Adding effects can take any sound to a higher level.
such a great video! I will use this knowledge on the Iridium. and Fairlight wavetables, what a plus!
You can create a new patch, e.g. C,A,NEWV
Indeed, but its faster to have a blank patch I normally call A to load I find. Then its always s,a,NewName with each wave or sample :D
"I have downloaded it. Thank you very much! I will use it!!!
it sounds lovely. I just got an Eventide H9000. But I used a Yamaha Rev 1 in the 80s and hark after these older darker reverbs. May I ask - how did you clean the Larc to remove the yellow staining? Is it a similar process to cleaning all other plastics like yellowed keyboards? I am interested in buying one of these units at some point. I also read that they are easy to service as there are no custom chips inside unlike the 480L (is this correct?). Love your channel.
I find when you 'retobright' plastics if you keep them out in normal light it takes a very long time to yellow again. If you put them away somewhere dark and warm they yellow again really fast. Indeed the 224 is built around an intel dev board from the 1970's most of the chips are pretty avalible if required. :D
@@100ThingsIDo thank you. I've been offered an almost mint 480L but I'm reading that folks seem to think the 224XL was better / has more character. Enjoy your channel. thanks for the reply.
Hey Mike1 Just got one of these. Needs fixing up, but will be fun to explore. Thanks for the demo of the famous Linn swing!
Heaps of fun, the SCSI add on is great but that you can't preview sounds before loding them limits how much you can really store and use again :D
Hey and where to get a synclavier today ? And its Sound great 👌👍😎
Don't think I have seen one in such good condition as this in many years, wow sounds great too!
Norddrum2 też tak potrafi -polecam👍
Yes please!!!
I'd highly recommend the Virtual Vices series to you ... Namlook + Der Spyra
❤
Very nice. Lovely Jarre-ish feel to it.
I'm thinking of buying a JD and I have a d50...are they the same??❤
Can I install synclavier go in a Mac?
I've never understood why people think it's a good thing to use a machine that can play with metronomic perfection and then try to make it sound more like a human by making it play out of time. Just hire a bad drummer.
Hi! Is there any chance you could share the schematics of the whole synth? I would love to give it a try.

How do you turn the ploy on and off in the unit
I want......the Gemini!
Great job!
Oh yes, I still have my 4 meg Emax II I bought new 34 years ago (when I was 19). And the all the Syquest disks I transferred hundreds of floppies to... Still have the drives too... I really need to get it converted to a built in USB drive.
The wavetable processing...Reminds me of a Digidesign program catted Turbosynth we used in the late 80's...early 90's....
